Facebook-owned Instagram is allegedly readying a new feature called ‘Voice Note’ that will allow users to keep abreast of what is being said in a video on the Thread app. This development was first spotted by app developer and tipster Alessandro Paluzzi on Twitter. "Instagram is working on a new feature for the Threads app: video note. This feature will turn the audio of the video into live captions that will be shown in time with the recording," Paluzzi said in a tweet.
The ‘Voice Note’ feature will be especially helpful for those having hearing disabilities. Instagram introduced the Threads app in October 2019 as a more intimate version of its popular app, targeting users who want to keep their close friends in the loop.
Threads allows users to share multimedia like photos, text, and videos with those on a curated list of “close friends.” Moreover, it also asks users if they would like to passively share personal data such as location and status.
